Quilters Without Borders

Blessed be the tie that binds…

A new, exciting, and unusual mission opportunity for us: quilting!

Our our own Kathi Cooper traveled to Nogales, Arizona in 2018 and connected with the Kino Border Initiative / Iniciativa Kino para la Frontera, an organization that promotes US/Mexico border and immigration policies that affirm the dignity of the human person and a spirit of bi-national solidarity.

Kino is completing a new overnight shelter facility and they are in need of bright and beautiful quilts to keep folks warm on cool desert nights. This is something we can do to help!

Look for announcements in the bulletin and on the calendar for dates we are working on this project together at the church.

Tying quilts is something most everyone can do––middle school age on up. Bring a snack to share if you like, and come for conversation, quilting, and prayer for our sisters and brothers on the border.
